ABOUT THE PROJECT

Practical tools.
Clearer understanding.

HSECalc is an independent project building free resources for everyday health, safety and environment work.

What you can find here

The toolkit brings three kinds of resource together: calculators for measurements and arithmetic, KPIs for safety performance rates, and tools and templates for briefings and planning tasks.

All resources currently available are free and require no account. The site is being developed as a lightweight toolkit that is straightforward to use on desktop and mobile.

How we approach a tool

  1. Define the scope. State the task, input units and regional or equipment limits.
  2. Show the method. Link original references where a recognised method is used. Plain arithmetic is identified as such.
  3. Explain the result. Include a worked example, interpretation and next steps without inventing a universal pass/fail threshold.
  4. Make corrections possible. Invite reports of errors and unclear instructions.

Current development status

These tools are in public beta. Calculation checks do not replace independent professional validation. Some resources are deliberately limited worksheets: the NIOSH page assesses the origin with manually verified multipliers, and the fire and fall planners require assessed site or equipment inputs.

HSECalc is not a regulator, certification body or equipment manufacturer. Referenced organisations do not endorse this project.
